The 12th Chinese Manufacturing MES Forum successfully hosted

April 20th 2017, Shanghai—Chinese Digital Enterprise Portal announced the successful opening of the 12th Chinese Manufacturing MES Forum at Wyndham Grand Plaza Royale Oriental Shanghai.

Focusing on “digital plant and production process control”, the event has shared cutting edge of MES technology, trends, cases and solutions, and attracted widespread attention in the industry. over 500 attendees including MES experts, CIOs, IT managers, MES vendors participated the event.

Professor Bin Shen, Dean of CDHK’s Mechanical Engineering School gave a speech on Industry 4.0 and MES. He talked about the nature of smart manufacturing and pointed out the five features of it—agile perception, real-time analysis, autonomous inference, quick response, and innovation learning. Professor Shen said that manufacturers had to complete digitalization for transforming from traditional plants to smart plant and that digital plant is the basis of industry 4.0 and smart manufacturing.

Dr. Pei Huang, e-works CEO analyzed the connotation and scope of smart manufacturing. He talked about the MES application status, hotspots, implementation difficulties and his observations in Chinese smart manufacturing market.

Mr. Wei Du, e-works Consulting Director analyzed the key points in MES planning and implementation. He said that MES system planning should take step by step through system requirement and architecture planning, implementation planning, basic data analyzing, process optimization analyzing and optimizing, production process modeling and analyzing, data collecting and analyzing, status assessment and MES integration.

Several CIO and MES project manager shared their successful experiences in building smart factory. Mr. Liping Ni, MES Project Manager of SAIC Volkswagen introduced their MES project in Car Plant Ⅲ, which included logistics planning and driving, tool optimization, product traceability, quality management, production monitoring and analyzing. Mr. Ling Gao, XIZI UHC CIO shared their vision and planning for Industry 4.0 and in detail introduced their fulfillment of digitalization in Hangzhou plant. Mr. Zhiliang Zhang, CIO of Wenzhou Likeda Printing shared their MES project and his thinking about smart factory. Mr. Qigao Wang, Automation Project Manager of Jiangsu Changjiang Electronics Technology suggested that semiconductor manufacturers should begin with digitalization of manufacturing resources, production process, workshop operation, quality management, and material management before building a digital factory.
