2015 Chinese Manufacturing SCM Summit Successfully Closed

September 25th 2015, Dongguan—Chinese Digital Enterprise Portal e-works announced that the 7th Chinese Manufacturing Supply Chain Management Summit successfully closed at Royal Garden Hotel, Dongguan City, Guangdong Province.

The annual conference brought together over 300 participants from nation-wide supply chain experts, well-known manufacturers, and home-and-abroad mainstream vendors. Around the topic of “the supply chain management methods in the wave of intelligent IoT”, they discussed and shared Chinese manufacturing supply chain management status, development trends, and some application cases.

Professor Guojun Zhang, Executive Vice President of Guangdong HUST Industrial Technology Research Institute and Chairman of e-works addressed the conference. He shared his view on status and applications of manufacturing supply chain management and summarized the impact of supply chain management on improving enterprise competitiveness.

Dr. Pei Huang, e-works CEO talked about manufacturing supply chain management information applications and shared his view on SCM implementation strategies and ways to transformation and upgrading.

Professor Zhixiang Chen, School of Management, Sun Yat-Sen University gave a speech on “3 ITs and 3 DMs of new manufacturing supply chain management”. “3 ITs” mean Information Technology, Intelligent Technology, and Innovation Technology. “3 DMs” mean Data Management, Decision Management, and Development Management. “Under the wave of Industry 4.0 and Internet plus manufacturing, manufacturers should attach more importance on these factors,” Professor Chen pointed out.

Mr. Qinghua Yan, SCM expert, China Federation of Logistics and Purchasing talked around “the intelligent logistics industry chain in the Internet+ era”. He stressed the importance of logistics service on the way of manufacturing transformation and upgrading and started a discussion on collaboration between manufacturing and logistics industry on building intelligent logistics industry chain.

Through sharing QuantumAsia best practice, Mr. Gang Wei, Sales Director, QuantumAsia Shanghai analyzed large manufacturing enterprises’ transportation management headaches and gave remedies on building a complete closed-loop transportation management system. Mr. Wenyan Pan, Vice President & CIO of Coolpad Group talked about how to build an intelligent eco-supply chain system. Mr. Chengdong Xu, Senior Pre-sales Consultant, SYNNEX Corporation introduced lean JIT through reasonable adjustment of segregation of duties in each executive system and enhanced systems integration and collaboration.

Mr. Fushou Wang, Corporate Strategy Plan Director, ZTE Supply Chain analyzed the enterprise-level supply chain management’s way out of global competition. Mr. Junxiang Tang, Sales Manager, SEEBURGER demonstrate the importance of EDI in enterprise supply chain management through several use cases.

In Panel Discussion session, four guests discussed several issues around the topic “the supply chain management methods in the wave of intelligent IoT”: the influence of IoT on manufacturing supply chain management; how to choose matching intelligent logistics solution; and how to realize better collaboration between upstream and downstream firms etc.

In CIO salon, many present participants poured out their headache problems and confusions in building supply chain management systems and were given some advice and suggestions by present experts. The summit closed with good response and praises. “It brings a lot of practical information for us, very useful”, said one participant.
