In order to explore the trend of Industry 4.0, e-works organized a delegation to Germany from April 6 to April 14. Dr. Pei Huang, e-works CEO led the group which contains 37 CEOs and CIOs from 21 leading manufacturing enterprises in various industries.

Germany Industry 4.0 Study Tour Group

On April 7, the tour group first visited ABAS, a medium-sized ERP software company in Germany. The co-founder of ABAS, Mr. Peter Forscht lectured the members based on his long-term efforts and understanding on ERP. He talked about why ERP is important, and why it is important to international companies and suppliers. On the afternoon, they paid a visit to Schmalz, a famous vacuum equipment manufacturer in Germany to learn its history, products, and IT development status.

On April 8, the group visited Siemens Elektronikwerks Ambergs (EWA), a paradigm of future intelligent plant. Mr. Bo Deng, EWA Production Director introduced the plant design differences of EWA with others and shared with group members his digital plant building experience.

On April 9, global leading MES vendor MPDV had a short MES training course for the members. Later of the day they visited Playmobil, one of the global largest toy manufacturer. On the following days, they visited Volkswagen transparent factory, SAP future factory lab, and HANNOVER MESSE 2015.

The study tour program was very successful. The group members said, "The tour gives us an opportunity to learn the latest global industrial technologies and Germany's beautiful view. We are gaining an deep understanding of Industry 4.0 and it helps enterprises' transformation and upgrading."
