Toyota launches fund for China students
The donation will be delivered to students at 20 Chinese universities in central and western regions of the country.
BEIJING, March 22 (UPI) -- Japanese automaker Toyota Motor Corp. has established a scholarship fund to support a number of poor Chinese college students for the next five years.
Toyota will invest $2.5 million into the fund and the donation will be delivered to students at 20 Chinese universities in central and western regions of the country.
Ten students will be selected from a single university every year and given financial support of $640 annually, the Asahi Shimbun reported Wednesday.
The Toyota's scholarship fund will help 1,000 students between 2006 and 2010.
