Foreign investment used by China in January 2006 totaled 4.545 billion U.S. dollars, up 10.99 percent on the previous year, the Ministry of Commerce said on Monday.
During the month, 3,044 foreign-funded enterprises were established in China, down 14.57 percent, the ministry said.
Hong Kong is still one of the main investment sources of the Chinese mainland, contributing 1.293 billion dollars.
The European Union's investment in China is growing very fast, jumping 70.8 percent in January from the previous year.
The actual investment of the United States and Asian countries in China also increased, with a growth rate of 19.71 percent and 0.73 percent.
