FAW-GM set to build commercial light truck

FAW-GM Light Duty Commercial Vehicle Co., General Motors' commercial venture in China, plans to start mass production of a light-duty truck in October.

The truck, code-named L330, will be fitted with an engine that meets Euro 4 emission standards, according to FAW-GM.

The vehicle will be built at FAW-GM's plant in the northeast China city of Harbin and sold under FAW's Jiefang brand. Further information about the truck is unavailable.

The light truck will be the second product to be produced by FAW-GM. Its first model, a pickup, was launched in July.

Established in 2009 in the northeast China city of Changchun, FAW-GM is a 50-50 joint venture between GM and China FAW Group Corp.
