In Europe and North America, automakers are downsizing engines and adding turbochargers to improve fuel economy. Now, automakers are introducing turbocharged engines to China.
Honeywell expects turbocharged engines to be adopted across all vehicle segments in China. It predicts that sales of turbocharged vehicles in China will double from 4 million units in 2011 to 8 million in 2016.
