"ZTE is pleased to further work with WDS to bring consumers affordable devices with unique functions that enhance mobile experience. Thailand is a 100 percent open market to terminal products and we are confident of standing our foot on the smart phone market here," said Zhang during a joint press conference with WDS.
The two smart phones, ZTE Racer II and ZTE Blade, and the tablet ZTE V9+ are equipped with full-fledged functions at value price to satisfy behaviors and demands in the market, he added.
According to the company, ZTE's smart phone shipment has exceeded 12 million, increasing by 400 percent on a year-on-year basis and the figure is expected to double in 2012.
The smartphone market in Thailand is booming. According to Thakolrat Kaewkan, managing director of WDS, the overall mobile phone market in Thailand is expected to reach 17 million units, or a 15 percent growth from last year, with product trend towards smartphones and tablets following the change of consumers' behavior preferring mobile phone with diverse utilities.
