China's second-largest coal producer profit up 35 pct in 2011
China National Coal Group Corp., the country's second-largest coal producer, on Monday reported a 35 percent year-on-year growth in profit to 16.38 billion yuan (2.5 billion U.S. dollars) in 2011.
The group's coal output in the year grew 11 percent to 164 million tonnes, a growth it attributed to structural adjustment and management innovation.
In 2012, the company aims to produce 170 million tonnes of coal and post a profit of 17.3 billion yuan.
Meanwhile, the company will step up international cooperation and seek appropriate overseas mergers and acquisitions, it said.
