Mercedes' China sales decline 2.5% in July

Daimler AG sold 14,248 Mercedes-Benz vehicles in China in July, down 2.5 percent from a year earlier.

The decline was caused by the model changeover of the high volume C class in China, Daimler said in a statement.

The German automaker expects sales to rebound in the third quarter after the launch of the new C class.

In the first seven months, sales of Mercedes-Benz vehicles reached 106,422 units, up nearly 42 percent year-on-year.

Last week, Audi AG said its China sales surged 35 percent in July. Other luxury brands have yet to disclose their sales in China during the month.
