Dell Sees Good Growth In China

Paul-Henri Ferrand, president for the Asia Pacific and Japan regions of Dell, revealed that Dell China's revenue increased by 22% during the first quarter of 2012 fiscal year.

According to local media reports, Ferrand said that Dell's Asia Pacific and Japan regions saw a revenue growth of 15%, reaching USD3 billion. Of that total, the revenue growth of its public business department was 13%, mainly contributed by the growth of the public business department in China.

He also pointed out that the operating revenue of the consumer business department of Dell Asia Pacific and Japan increased by 26%; and the growth was mainly contributed by the Chinese, Indian, and South Korean markets with growth rates of 28%, 22% and 15%, respectively. However, he reportedly declined to provide further breakdowns.

Commenting on the earthquake in Japan, Ferrand said that the earthquake did not have an actual influence on Dell and they implemented good supply chain control to minimize the impact.

According to Dell's latest financial report for the first quarter of 2012 fiscal year, the company made net profit of USD945 million, a year-on-year increase of 177%; while its sales reached USD15.017 billion, a year-on-year increase of 1%.
