TI Automotive builds tubing plant in China
TI Automotive Ltd., a suburban Detroit-based supplier of fuel tanks and fluid tubing, began construction of a new factory in the north China port city of Qinghuangdao.
The 250,000-square-foot plant, the company's eighth production facility in China, will produce single- and double-walled steel tubing.
It will mainly serve customers in Australia, China, India, Indonesia, Korea and Thailand, the company said in a statement.
TI Automotive opened its first plant in China in 1987. It supplies brake and fuel lines, fuel modules, plastic fuel tanks and air conditioning components to "all of the major Chinese automakers," the company said.
