Great Wall to export to Sweden, 3 Baltic countries
Great Wall Motor Co. will start selling vehicles in Sweden, Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania this year.
The private Chinese automaker now exports vehicles to more than 100 countries. The bulk of Great Wall's sales are in emerging markets, although the company does export vehicles to Italy and Australia.
The company currently operates CKD plants in Russia, Indonesia, Iran, Vietnam, Egypt, Ukraine, Bulgaria, Senegal, Venezuela, the Philippines, Malaysia and Ethiopia.
In 2010, Great Wall's total sales exceeded 390,000 units, including 50,000 units sold overseas.
This year, the company aims to increase its sales to 500,000 units of which more than 70,000 will be sold through exports, a company spokesman said.
