AMD To Build Second Global Center In Beijing

The U.S.-based technology company AMD has signed a strategic cooperation memorandum of understanding with the municipal government of Beijing to build its second global center in Beijing in the next few years.

According to the MOU, AMD plans to spend the next few years in establishing its second global center in Beijing, with the aim of supporting its U.S. headquarters. The new global center will have global management functions, and is expected to promote AMD's global business operation and the information construction of Beijing.

AMD will team with its OEM partners to participate in various technology projects in Beijing, including the convergence of the three networks, a super computing center, and the Internet of Things. AMD will also enhance its cooperation with information technology enterprises in Beijing.

Guo Kezun, senior vice president of AMD Worldwide and president of AMD Greater China, said during the signing ceremony that China will continue to be one of the largest markets for AMD. It is a trend to build AMD's second global center in Beijing to support the operation of its U.S. headquarters.
