Airbus A380 passes operational assessment in China

The Aircraft Assessment Group under the Civil Aviation Administration of China (CAAC) issued a final assessment report to Airbus on March 26, confirming the conformance of the A380 aircraft with relevant operation requirements stipulated in the China Civil Aviation Regulations (CCAR).

The report is a guidance document for CAAC's branches to approve the operation of the Airbus A380 aircraft. This has further paved the way for the operation of the A380 aircraft in China, following a type certificate for the A380 aircraft issued by the CAAC to Airbus in December 2009.

According to CCAR, new aircraft types imported from foreign countries are subject to relevant assessment by the Aircraft Assessment Group under the CCAC. Relevant assessment involves several aspects. The assessment examines whether the types conform to the CCAR, whether the flight crew training meets relevant standards, dispatch standards in cases of malfunction and equipment failure, aircraft maintenance standards and continued airworthiness guide.
