HP Opened Adaptive Infrastructure Discovery Center in Beijing

HP announced the opening of its Adaptive Infrastructure Discovery Center (AIDC) in China.

HP announced the opening of its Adaptive Infrastructure Discovery Center (AIDC) in China. The center is dedicated to helping customers lower the cost of operations, achieve greater flexibility and increase energy-efficiency.

HP will leverage the company's expertise in data center transformation at the new facility to demonstrate how companies can manage and transform data centers to enable business growth.

The new AIDC showcases the industry's broadest portfolio of energy-efficient technology solutions and data center transformation services, including recently launched data center consolidation virtualization services. Emerson Network Power, a global leader in manufacturing and technology, enables business critical continuity by providing innovative facilities including AC power and precise cooling systems. Leveraging best practices in data center construction, HP collaborated with Panduit, the leader in network and electrical solutions, who provided structural cabling for the facility.

Customers who visit the center can learn more about HP's Data Center Transformation solutions. These solutions provide businesses with the technology tools to deliver automation, virtualization, consolidation, business continuity and energy saving solutions. Additionally, HP will provide workshops and tailored assessments to build a new data center or extend the life and capacity of existing data centers.

"Helping companies transform data centers into a source of business and competitive advantage requires new innovative thinking and approaches," said Simon Hum, Program Director, Adaptive Infrastructure, HP Asia Pacific and Japan. "The new AIDC is ideally located in Beijing to help companies not only in China but the entire Asia Pacific."

Demonstrating the Next Generation Data Center

As part of HP’s extensive energy efficiency portfolio, the HP AIDC will host demonstrations of HP Thermal Zone Mapping (TZM), part of a comprehensive thermal assessment service from HP. Developed in HP Labs, TZM enables customers to view a three-dimensional model of where in the data center air conditioners are maximizing cooling. As a result, they can arrange and manage air conditioning for optimal cooling, increased energy efficiency and lower costs.

Also available is Dynamic Smart Cooling (DSC) which can reduce cooling costs up to 40 percent. The DSC advanced hardware and software solution continuously adjusts data center air conditioning settings to direct where and when cooling is required.

Other demonstrations at the HP AIDC include:

IT as a Service: Automates the supply chain and lowers the cost of operations through "IT Shared Services.”
Self-Managed, Self-Healing Infrastructure: Controls against hardware failures and workload problems, without human interaction
Data Center Automation Solutions: Automates the data center with an integrated view of business services and any impact of change across the entire infrastructure.
Dynamic Smart Cooling Tour: Interfaces with data center cooling systems to provide intelligent control and optimization of cooling resources.
