China Green Company Index Names HP “China Green Company” for Environmental and Social Contributions

HP announced that it has been named a "China Green Company" by the China Green Company Index.

HP announced that it has been named a "China Green Company" by the China Green Company Index, which tracks the environmental and social performance of companies doing business in China. To be named a China Green Company, an enterprise must demonstrate that its business practices are in harmony with the environment and society.

"We are very pleased that HP has been named a China Green Company," said Foo Piau-Phang, managing director of China HP. "HP has been doing business in China for over 20 years, and is deeply committed to the country. This recognition comes from leading experts on environmental and social matters, and it is an honor to have our efforts recognized by such individuals."

The China Green Companies Index was created by China Entrepreneur Magazine, Downons Enterprise Institute and the Guanghua School of Management, Peking University with the support of Pricewaterhouse Coopers and the Climate Change Capital Group to track the corporate social responsibility practices of companies in China and to recognize those performing at the highest levels with the title of "China Green Company" – with the ultimate goal of providing models, lessons and experiences for other companies to become a China Green Company.

HP was named a China Green Company after review and selection by the China Green Companies Index International Appraisal Committee, which counts among its members representatives from WWF China, the Research Center for Sustainable Development of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, and many other environmental and/or social organizations.
