Harbin Intl Economy and Trade Fair opens
The 29th China Harbin International Economy and Trade Fair opened Thursday in Northeast China's Heilongjiang province, featuring cooperation and exchange between China and Russia at local levels. Fifteen delegations from Russia will attend the trade fair and hold discussions with their Chinese counterparts in fields of trade, tourism, culture, and sports.
The organizers set up an exhibition section for timber cooperation between China and Russia for the first time.
The five-day trade fair will cover an exhibition area of 86,000 square meters, attracting companies in the electro-mechanical, biomass energy, organic food, e-commerce, and large-scale equipment industries.
This year's fair has attracted more than 1,300 companies, including nearly 500 foreign companies from 31 countries and regions.
First held in 1990, the trade fair has become an important platform for regional cooperation in Northeast Asia.
