Geely sales on pace to top 1 million with Sept. surge
Geely Automobile Holdings is poised to achieve its annual sales target of 1.1 million vehicles this year after deliveries surged 42 percent in September.
The company delivered 108,872 vehicles last month. Through September, sales have soared 80 percent to 827,108 vehicles.
Geely had hoped to boost annual sales 44 percent this year -- an ambitious target. Now the company is poised to exceed it.
Geely’s sales have received a boost from four new models: the Boyue, Emgrand GS and Vision crossovers and the Emgrand GL compact sedan.
Sales of the four models totaled 62,516 vehicles in September -- or 57 percent of all deliveries.
Geely plans to launch its first model for the Lynk & CO brand this year. That model, the 01, uses the Compact Modular Architecture jointly developed by Volvo and parent Zhejiang Geely Holding Group.
Geely, based in the east China city of Hangzhou, is the Hong Kong-listed subsidiary of Zhejiang Geely Holding Group Co. Geely also owns Volvo.
