Beijing Hyundai, a 50-50 partnership between Hyundai Motor Co. and BAIC Group Co., operates four assembly plants.
Three of the factories are based in Beijing, and the fourth is located in Cangzhou in north China's Hebei province. The four plants combined can build up to 1.35 million vehicles annually.
With a new plant coming on line, Beijing Hyundai aims to boost annual sales in China 10 percent to 1.25 million vehicles this year, Liu said.
In 2016, the company delivered 1.14 million vehicles, up 7.5 percent from a year earlier.
