e-works, Chinese Digital Enterprise Portal announced the successful conclusion of Chinese PLM Application Summit 2016 at Changsha, the capital city of Hunan Province. This year, the summit focuses on “product innovation and transformation in the age of intelligent manufacturing”.

Over 800 CIOs, IT managers, and R&D directors from manufacturing enterprises and research institutes across 20 provinces attended the summit, including Chang’an Automobile, CRRC Zhuzhou Institute, Chery Automobile, Haima Automobile, Hunan Sunward Intelligent Machinery, CSIC The 712th Institute etc. Besides, more than 25 home and abroad top software vendors participated in the summit.

On the morning session of December 1st, Dr. Pei Huang, e-works CEO addressed the summit. He said that, “the emergence of new technology of IoT, Industrial IoT, social, and additive manufacturing brings both challenges and opportunities for product innovation. We need to rethink everything.”He also listed several outstanding cases in building advantages in product innovation.

Mr. Peigen Li, Fellow of CAE, talked about “the development of digital innovation and intelligent technology”. He shared the American delegation experience recently organized by e-works and talked five aspects of product digital innovation and intelligent technologies—modeling and simulation, smart design, 3D printing, IoT, and digitization and intelligence.

Followed by Mr. Li, other information experts from university, research institutes, and manufacturing companies also made speeches. They are from Zhejiang University, HUST University, Chinese Information Security Research Institute, Changan Automobile, SANY Heavy Industry, AVIC, and CRRC Zhuzhou Institute.
In the afternoon of the first-day session, there were four panel discussions respectively focusing on “product innovation and transformation in the age of intelligent manufacturing”, “implementation and application of digital innovation”, and “digital design and manufacturing”, and “process management in product innovation”.

During the dinner party, e-works announced the awards of 2016 Chinese manufacturing excellent PLM paper and signed a strategic cooperation contract with Changsha Intelligent Manufacturing Research Institute.
