Expo to promote cooperation in mineral exploration
China intends to strengthen cooperation between Chinese and foreign investors in mineral exploration with the 2014 China Mining Congress and Expo, which will be held from Oct 20 to 23 in Tianjin.
"In the expo, we will promote 196 mining programs inside and outside the country," Bai Xingbi, an official with the Ministry of Land and Resources, told a news conference in Beijing on Sunday.
He said that China holds an open and welcome attitude toward foreign investors, and that Chinese mining companies are speeding up their pace in the global mineral market.
More than 7,000 delegates from over 50 countries and regions, including Australia and Canada, will attend the annual mining congress and expo.
Besides 36 forums involving current trends in the global mineral market, a 38,000-square-meter exhibition will be held to display advanced mining equipment.
The China Mining Congress and Expo is jointly organized by the Ministry of Land and Resources and the Tianjin government.
