Suppliers form joint venture to produce steering parts in China
Two suppliers, Jebsen Automotive Technik of Hong Kong and tedrive Steering of Germany, have formed a 50-50 joint venture to market and produce steering components in China.
The joint venture, Jebsen tedrive Steering Systems, will be in Shanghai. The partners provided no details about the components to be made or when production would begin.
Tedrive, of Wuelfrath, Germany, produces rack-and-pinion steering and recirculating ball steering gear systems for passenger vehicles as well as large trucks and buses.
The company operates three plants in Wuelfrath and Chemnitz, Germany, and has operations in Istanbul, Turkey; Tatarstan, Russia; and Michigan.
Jebsen Automotive Technik distributes aftermarket parts and operates a network of Porsche dealerships in China.
