PSA sales jump 28% in first 6 months
PSA Peugeot Citroen's vehicle deliveries in China jumped 28 percent in the first six months to 353,000 units as the French automaker gained share in a slowing market.
FFor the first six months, industry sales of light vehicles in China rose 11 percent, and the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers has warned that second-half industry sales growth may ease to 8 percent.
But PSA's two joint ventures continued to enjoy strong growth in China, the French automaker's largest global market.
Dongfeng Peugeot Citroen Automobile reported sales of 343,000 units, up nearly 25 percent. The Peugeot brand did especially well, with strong demand for the 2008 and 3008 crossovers.
The automaker's second joint venture, Changan PSA Automobile, reported sales of 10,000 units in the first six months. Changan PSA, which produces and sells the DS car brand, launched production in September.
Changan PSA's assembly plant in Shenzhen produces two models, the Citroen DS 5 hatchback and the DS 5LS compact sedan.
