Ford's China sales surge 32% on robust car volumes
Ford Motor Co. and its two joint ventures delivered 93,323 vehicles in China last month, up 32 percent year-on-year.
Most of the growth came from sales of passenger vehicles. Deliveries of locally produced and imported Ford-brand cars surged 35 percent year-on-year to 71,981 units in May, according to the company.
Of those, 67,454 units were built by Changan Ford Automobile, Ford's joint venture with Changan Automobile Co. The rest were imported into China.

Both the Focus and the Mondeo are produced in China by Changan Ford. The company didn't release sales of the Fiesta, S-Max, Kuga and EcoSport, which it also builds in China.
Jiangling Motors Corp., Ford's commercial vehicle joint venture, delivered 21,342 vehicles in May, up 25 percent. Jiangling Motors produces the Transit van as well as its own SUVs, pickups and vans.
