The new facility includes well equipped technology demonstration, customer training, and technical support areas as well as offices for local sales and engineering staffs.
Staffed by approximately 15 full-time specialists, the new Beijing technology centre complements Invensys' existing presence in China, which includes the well established Shanghai-Foxboro Company facility in Shanghai, with its significant manufacturing, sales, customer support, training, and engineering capabilities.
'China represents a critically important market for Invensys', said Jeswant Gill, President of Invensys Process Systems' Asia Pacific operations.
'This new technology centre in Beijing demonstrates our ongoing commitment to our many new and existing customers in the People's Republic of China'.
'We've increased our focus on building long-term relationships with our customers in China by providing complete, value-enhancing automation solutions', said John Sun, General Manager of Invensys Process Systems China.
'Increasingly, these solutions take advantage of Invensys' broad portfolio, which includes Foxboro process control systems, Triconex safety systems, SimSci-Esscor simulation and optimisation, Avantis asset management, Wonderware human machine interface software, plus comprehensive engineering and support services.
'Our new technology centre in Beijing is ideally located to be able to support Invensys' large installed base of power and process industry customers as well as its rapidly expanding base of customers within the Chinese oil and gas, refining and petrochemical industries'.
