Vestas wins orders to deliver 280 wind turbines for China wind projects

Vestas Wind Systems AS said it has won three orders for the delivery of a total of 280 units of the V52-850 kW wind turbine to wind projects in China.

?COPENHAGEN (AFX) - Vestas Wind Systems AS said it has won three orders for the delivery of a total of 280 units of the V52-850 kW wind turbine to wind projects in China.

Asia Wind Power (Mudanjiang) Co Ltd and Hong Kong Wind Power (Muling) Co Ltd -- both subsidiaries of Hong Kong Construction (Holdings) Ltd -- have placed an order for a total of 58 turbines, which will be located in wind parks in Muling in the Heilongjiang Province.

Gansu Datang Yumen Wind Power Co Ltd, a subsidiary of China Datang Corp, has placed an order for 58 turbines for the Yumen Diwopu project.

Datang Chifeng Saihanba Wind Power Generation Co Ltd, also a subsidiary of China Datang Corp, placed an order for a total of 164 turbines.

Delivery of the turbines will begin this spring, and installation is expected to be completed during the second half of 2006.

No financial details were disclosed but Vestas said the orders will not affect the group's expectations for this year.
