Eberspaecher to produce diesel exhaust systems in China
German supplier Eberspaecher Group says it has formed a joint venture to produce exhaust aftertreatment systems for commercial trucks' diesel engines.
The company will have a 49 percent stake in its joint venture with Shaanxi Wanfang Autoparts Co., which is headquartered in Xian.
The joint venture, dubbed Eberspaecher Exhaust Technology Xi'an Co., also will be headquartered in Xian. The partnership will launch production in 2014, with an initial annual output of 100,000 exhaust systems.
In 2012, Eberspaecher reported global sales of 2.8 billion euros (23 billion yuan). The company, which is based in Esslingen, Germany, has 7,300 employees.
