Great Wall sales on track to top 700,000 in '13
Great Wall Motor Co., China's largest SUV maker, is on track to be the first domestic Chinese automaker to sell more than 700,000 passenger vehicles a year.
The company's sales growth slowed in November, with deliveries up 9 percent year-over-year to 69,950 units. But for the first 11 months of this year, sales surged 24 percent to 691,437 units.
"There is no doubt that we will accomplish the goal of selling 700,000 vehicles this year," the company said in a statement.
In November, the company sold 39,457 Haval SUVs, accounting for 57 percent of total deliveries. The company's top-selling model, the Haval H6 compact SUV, generated sales of 23,023 units.
Last month, the automaker also sold 18,961 Great Wall sedans and 11,532 Wingle pickups.
The company, which is headquartered in the north China city of Baoding, did not provide year-ago sales comparisons for individual models.
