Purchase intention expressed at Taiwan trade fair

A total of 1,236 buyers have expressed their intention to purchase products worth $103.44 million after attending the 2013 Taiwan Trade Fair, the event organizer said on Monday.

The four-day fair, which ended on Sunday in Shijiazhuang in north China's Hebei province, attracted 125,000 participants, with spot trading exceeding 30 million yuan ($4.8 million), according to the organizer.

An initial agreement has been clinched between the Shijiazhuang municipal government and a Taiwan-based association on farm produce to work together on building a Taiwan food street, a shopping center with Taiwan products and a modern agriculture base.

Ten percent of Taiwan exhibitors also found local agents for their products, the organizer said.

The Taiwan Trade Fair has been held 24 times in China's mainland since its inauguration in 2009 in Nanjing, capital city of east China's Jiangsu province.
