Outlook for China's aviation industry released
Several domestic and foreign manufacturers released their China market outlook on Tuesday, when the ninth China International Aviation and Aerospace Exhibition opened in Zhuhai, Guangdong province.
Commercial Aircraft Corp of China, Ltd predicted the China market will need 4,960 large passenger aircraft worth $563 billion by 2031, made up of 3,405 single-aisle aircraft, 868 twin-aisle airplane and 687 regional jets.
The company also forecast China's share of the worldwide operating passenger aircraft fleet will rise from its current 10 percent to more than 16 percent by 2031.
Aviation Industry Corp of China forecast China will have 4,933 new passenger aircraft by 2031, including 4,041 large jet liners and 829 regional jets, and China's fleet will grow to 6,309 aircraft, which is 3.6 times the current fleet.
AVIC also said in its market outlook that single-aisle aircraft will remain the main sector in civil aviation, because of China's network of routes.
Embraer SA, the world's largest manufacturer of commercial jets up to 120 seats, forecasts China will have a demand for 1,005 new jets with 61 to 120 seats by 2031, including 455 aircraft with 61 to 90 seats and 550 with 91 to 120 seats.
