Feb. 15, 2006 (China Knowledge) – The children’s goods market in China is expected to increase by 12.4% annually to exceed RMB 100 billion by 2010, according to a report by the State-run Xinhua news agency.
The remarks were made in a research report released during the 2006 China Retail Development Forum held last weekend in Shanghai.
According to the report, the market for baby care products is expected to enjoy an annual growth of 8.5% while the market for children’s clothing is likely to grow by 16.7% every year.
The report said the big international players in the children’s goods industry have swarmed into China to tap on its enormous potential. Some of these companies include Nike Kids, NUBY, Cake Walk, Cosco, Huffy Sports, Maxi-Cosi, Miniman, Parrot, Quinny, Safety 1st and Tommee Tippee.
