Dassault Systèmes and HYDROCHINA CHENGDU Establish Partnership to Provide Hydropower Engineering Industry Solution Experiences
Dassault Systèmes the 3DEXPERIENCE Company, world leader in 3D design, 3D Digital Mock Up and Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) solutions, today announced the creation of a joint research and development center for hydropower engineering digitalization with HYDROCHINA Chengdu Engineering Corporation (HYDROCHINA CHENGDU), a world leader in hydropower engineering design and consulting for hydroelectricity in China, and Simu Tech Inc. (SIMUTECH).
The joint R&D center is committed to providing hydropower industry solution experiences based on Dassault Systèmes' 3DEXPERIENCE platform, to streamline construction processes, enhance hydropower engineering industry design capabilities, and help harmonize dams with nature and life, minimizing the impact on both of them. The partnership announcement was made today during the seventh EU-China Fair.
Dassault Systèmes' 3DEXPERIENCE platform has been successfully used by leading companies in the hydropower industry to better model, simulate and manage design and construction projects of various sizes. Through this strategic collaboration with HYDROCHINA CHENGDU and SIMUTECH, Dassault Systèmes aims to deliver state-of-the-art hydropower industry solution experiences, providing competitive edge content and services to spur technological innovation and digitalization. Dassault Systèmes' 3DEXPERIENCE platform will greatly enhance the efficiency of design, simulation and management of hydropower projects of various sizes, while reducing errors, maintaining tight budget control, project schedules and safety.
The three partners will commit full-time research personnel to this center, which will be located at HYDROCHINA CHENGDU offices.
HYDROCHINA CHENGDU, a state-level high-tech enterprise founded in 1955, is the world's largest enterprise on hydroelectricity survey and design, as well as one of the top Chinese design and engineering firms among the Global 500 list of power construction corporations. Founded in 2002, SIMUTECH is an officially recognized high-tech company with substantial experience in software development and tailored application for the hydropower engineering industry.
"It is a sound strategic move for HYDROCHINA CHENGDU to deepen its cooperation with Dassault Systèmes in order to take advantage of Dassault Systèmes' 3D collaborative design leadership and implement a forward-looking strategy for engineering," emphasized Zhang Jianyue, president, HYDROCHINA Chengdu Engineering Corporation. "The R&D center, with the support of Dassault Systèmes' state-of-the-art 3DEXPERIENCE platform and industry-specific strategies, aims to contribute to the technological advances in the energy industry."
"This R&D center will extensively serve the hydropower and other energy industries, and will have profound implications for the digitalization of the entire energy industry," said Zhao Li, general manager, SIMUTECH.
"China is the first country in the world for the development of new hydropower plants,"said Monica Menghini, Executive Vice President, Industry and Marketing, Dassault Systèmes. "This creates a unique opportunity for Dassault Systèmes to help improve people's life and help customers harmonize large projects with the environment. Through the cooperation with industry leaders such as HYDROCHINA CHENGDU and SIMUTECH, we will define and deliver high value industry solution experiences for this sector."
