Customer praise leads to an award for WorkNC in China
Sescoi's WorkNC CADCAM software has won a special award from its customers in China.
Sponsored by the prestigious Automobile and Industry magazine, the award is based on feedback from users and measures the stability, reliability, applicability, usability and cost of the nominated products. By winning, WorkNC has been recognized for the advanced technology and ease of use in its machining strategies and for the quality of the service and training supplied by the Sescoi team.
The presentation took place at the 12th Advanced Manufacturing and Automotive Industry forum in Bejing where more than 200 professionals from the automotive industry and its supply chain met to share knowledge on techniques for improved efficiency and cost reduction and to explore advanced manufacturing methods and their use within the sector.
Since entering the Chinese market in 2007, Sescoi has won some prestigious customers including Shanghai Volkswagen Automotive, Shanghai Superior Die Technology which is part of SIAC, Yutong Bus which is one of China’s top 500 businesses, Fangzheng Mould which makes automotive injection and blow molds, Chaoda Machinery which makes molds for interior trim, Changzhou Xingyu which makes automotive lighting and the Shandong Weifang Foton Mould Co. Ltd which is China’s largest manufacturer of automotive body panels. Worldwide, WorkNC is used by 80% of leading automotive manufacturers.
Chinese engineers particularly liked the ease of use, speed and quality of WorkNC. Shanghai Volkswagen found that users could be competent in 1-3 days and calculations which would take over 8 hours on other CAM systems could be completed in just 22 minutes in WorkNC. For Foton Mould, WorkNC solved the surface finish problem the company was experiencing with its previous CAM system. Mr Liu said, “We used WorkNC’s machining strategies for roughing and finishing and the result was remarkable. Using the same parameters as we had before, the software solved our problems easily, producing smooth curves without any ripples or stripes. Additionally, it produced a much brighter and higher quality surface finish straight off the machine.”
