Lenovo To Sell Smartphones In Russia From October 2012
According to reports in Russian local media, the Chinese electronics and PC group Lenovo will start selling Android smartphones in Russia, India, and Indonesia; and the company will launch Windows Phone 8 smartphones this autumn.
J'Son & Partners, a consulting firm in Russia, said that Lenovo has not yet formed its brand effect in the mobile phone market. The company needs to first enhance its strength in marketing, advertising, and brand promotion to gain more market share.
Lenovo's latest performance report showed that in emerging markets, the company gained fast growth in India and Russia. Meanwhile, Lenovo had become the third largest PC maker in the Russian market.
In addition, Liu Jun, senior vice president for Lenovo Group, revealed that Lenovo is currently discussing with resellers in Germany and Japan for the introduction of Lenovo smartphones; however, no real progress was disclosed.
