China's electronics exports, imports up 11.5% in 2011

The export and import value of China-made electronics rose 11.5 percent year-on-year to $1.13 trillion in 2011, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) said on Thursday.

The figure accounted for 31 percent of the country's total foreign trade, the MIIT said.

Of the total trade, exports rose 11.9 percent year-on-year, contributing 21.9 percent to China's overall export growth, according to the MIIT.

Exports to the US and Europeans countries experienced sluggish growth while that to the emerging markets saw relatively fast growth, an official with the MIIT said.

In terms of export structure, general trade has grown considerably while the weightings of processing trade dropped, said the official.
