WorkNC Dental Open Dental CADCAM Software Builds on its Reputation at Dentech China
Sescoi demonstrated its automated WorkNC Dental CADCAM software at Dentech China 2011, Shanghai during October. Feedback from the exhibition showed that Chinese dental professionals. appreciated the benefits of WorkNC Dental’s open architecture and the machining expertise built into the software.
Sescoi works in partnership with CNC machine manufacturers in China and, at the show, collaborated with Xiangshen based in Shanghai, and Swiss machine tool manufacturer Willemin Macodel. The choice of machine allows dental laboratories to select the equipment which matches their needs best. It also gives them sufficient flexibility to develop new reconstruction techniques and the ability to work with the latest dental materials.
WorkNC Dental imports scanned data defining the bridge, crown or implant. Manipulation of the model includes margin line detection, and automated nesting to make best use of the material. Next, support pins are added to hold each prosthesis in place during the machining operations. WorkNC Dental’s optimized machining wizards are tailored to each type of prosthetic material including zirconia, wax, cobalt chrome, titanium and PMMA and to each machine tool, enabling it to cut the bridge crown or implant without any specialist knowledge of CNC programming and with just one mouse click.
Sescoi demonstrated its new Implantology module at Dentech. This manages the abutments from a library of designs and detects the orientation of the implant or bridge to achieve a perfect fit. 3+2 and full 5-axis toolpaths generated by WorkNC Dental ensure the prosthesis is completely machined, including any undercuts, paying particular attention to the margin line and to the surface finish to maximize customer satisfaction levels. Visitors also saw the new automation module for the software, which starts and stops the machine tools, and plans the workshop loading, directing the workload to the next available mill. For dental laboratories, the automation of implant manufacture and the management of production will increase their product range and reduce managerial overheads.
