We will invest another US$850 million in China, especially boosting spending in China’s central and western markets

BEIJING, Tues: US soft drink giant PepsiCo said today it plans to invest another US$850 million (US$1 = RM3.75) in China over the next three years, with the focus on the under-developed western and central regions.

“We will invest another US$850 million in China, especially boosting spending in China’s central and western markets,” Zhu Huaxu, president of Pepsi’s China subsidiary, told reporters.

He did not elaborate on how the money would be used.

Pepsi, had spent US$1 billion in China by the end of last year.
