Geely expects to fall short of 2011 sales target
Zhejiang Geely Holding Group sold 293,232 vehicles in the first nine months of the year -- only 61 percent of its annual sales target.
Sales through September are up 6.6 percent, but Geely appears unlikely to reach its 2011 sales goal of 480,000 units, according to a statement it has filed with Hong Kong's stock exchange.
In September alone, Geely's sales were 32,430 units, up only 0.5 percent from the same month last year.
Geely, headquartered in the east China city of Hangzhou, acquired Sweden's Volvo Car Corp. last year from Ford Motor Co.
