Mitsubishi Chemical set to produce battery materials in China starting in 2012
Mitsubishi Chemical Corp. plans to produce electrolytes for lithium ion batteries in a plant to be built in China, reports IHS Automotive's Supplier Business newsletter, citing the company.
The Japanese supplier will set up a subsidiary in the eastern China city of Changshu, and will invest $33 million (210 million yuan) in the venture. The plant is scheduled to launch production at the end of 2012, according to Supplier Business.
