Subaru recalls 36,700 vehicles to fix faulty wipers
Subaru will recall 36,700 vehicles in China to repair faulty windshield wipers, reports the state-owned Xinhua news service, citing Chinese regulators.
According to China's General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine, the Japanese automaker is recalling Subaru Legacy and Outback models produced from November 2009 through May 2011.
Chinese regulators are considering new recall rules that would require automakers to offer free repairs for defects that occur within the first two years or the first 40,000 kilometers of ownership, according to IHS Automotive's Supplier Business newsletter.
