Inteva's new Shanghai tech center will design door parts
Inteva Products LLC says its Chinese joint venture has opened a technical center in Shanghai to design door components.
Shanghai Inteva Automotive Door Systems Co. produces latches, actuators, control modules and doors for Volkswagen AG, General Motors Co., SAIC Motor Corp. and others.
The joint venture has 400 employees.
Inteva has two other technical centers in Shanghai and in the eastern China city of Zhenjiang. It also has five Chinese factories in various locations.
Inteva, which is headquartered in Troy, Mich., employs 8,000 workers in 18 countries. Aside from door components, the company makes roofs, interior components and motors.
