Great Wall's Tianjin plant to open this month
Great Wall Motor Co.'s new plant in the north China port city of Tianjin will start production later this month, a company spokesman said.
The plant, capable of making 250,000 vehicles a year, will build Great Wall's Haval 6 SUV and Voleex C50 sedan.
Great Wall currently builds all of its vehicles in Baoding in north China's Hebei province. The Baoding plant can build 500,000 vehicles a year.
Great Wall , China's largest SUV and pickup manufacturer, sold 238,395 SUVs, pickups and cars in the first half of this year, up 40 percent year-on-year.
The private Chinese company is listed in Hong Kong was cleared in July by China's stock market regulator to issue shares on the Shanghai Stock Exchange later this year.
