Dana builds R&D center in Wuxi
Dana Holding Corp. has begun building a Chinese technical center that will design drive shafts, transmissions and axles for commercial vehicles and off-highway trucks.
The 12,000 square-meter technical center will employ 200 people and will open later this year.
The center will be located next to Dana Wuxi Technologies Co., a factory that produces axles, drive shafts and transmissions for off-highway vehicles.
U.S.-based Dana has seven Chinese ventures that produce components for off-highway vehicles, commercial trucks and light vehicles.
Dana, with operations in 26 countries, generated worldwide sales of $6.1 billion last year. The company ranked 26th on the Automotive News 2010 list of top global suppliers.
