New Toyota plant ahead of schedule
The joint venture between FAW Group and Toyota will begin production at its new plant in Changchun several months ahead of schedule, according to recent media reports.
The company planned to open the plant in the first half of 2012, but now it is likely to start operation at the end of this year, the reports said, citing sources at the parent company FAW Group.
The new 4 billion yuan plant in Changchun will have annual production capacity of 100,000 Corolla sedans in its initial stage, according to previous announcements from the joint venture.
