Among them is ICP Electronics Inc., which raked in NT$4.77 billion in sales revenue and NT$970 million in pretax profits in 2010, markedly up 45.4% and 90.1% from 2009, respectively. The firm's full-year EPS (earnings per share) hit a record high of NT$4.55.

The firm also reported its December revenue at NT$363 million, slightly down 2% from a month earlier but up 27% from a year earlier. Eroded by exchange losses of NT$22.577 million, the firm's pretax profits for the month declined 61.3% month-on-month to NT$43.022 million, but shot up 133% from December of 2009.

As the firm's production lines have been booked till mid-2011, institutional investors have forecast that the firm's single-month revenue will be maintained at the plateau in the first quarter of the year.

In the meantime, Advantech Co. also posted a 52.24% yearly growth in sales revenue of NT$16.378 billion for 2010, with fourth-quarter revenue growing 1.8% quarter-on-quarter to hit a record high.

However, ADLINK Technology Inc. reported a dazzling growth of 82.56% in sales revenue of NT$3.589 billion to lead the industry in the year, thanks to labor shortages in China's costal provinces, which caused local demand for automation equipment to significantly grow as a result.

As to industry outlook for 2011, some insiders noted that global demand for industrial PCs and embedded computers will keep growing significantly in the year, with Europe and China to lead the growth as two most vigorous markets in the world.
