Kia's China sales jumped 38 percent in 2010
Kia Motors Corp.'s passenger vehicle joint venture in China, Dongfeng Yueda Kia Automobile Co., sold 333,000 vehicles in 2010, up 38 percent.
Dongfeng Yueda Kia, located in Yancheng in eastern China's Jiangsu province, is a 50:25:25 joint venture among Kia, Dongfeng Motor Corp. and local investment company Jiangsu Yueda Co.
The partnership builds the Rio, Cerato, Optima, Soul, Forte and Sportage models. The venture's two assembly plants in Yancheng have a combined annual production capacity of 430,000 units.
In 2012, the venture will complete construction of a third plant with an annual production of 300,000 units.
