NEW DELHI, Sept 21 Asia Pulse - Telecom solutions provider Flextronics Software System (NSI:FSS) today announced the opening of its first software design and development centre in China.

"The new development center at Beijing would provide all outsourcing services including software development integration and maintenance services to telecom OEMs, service providers and systems integrators," FSS President and Managing Director Arun Kumar said.

The development centre would work closely with Flextronics global design and China manufacturing facilities to offer vertically integrated solutions to its customers, he said.

"According to analysts sixty per cent of telecom spending over the next decade is going to take place in Asia. We want to be one of the early movers to tap this growing opportunity," he said.

The FSS president said: "Opening of this centre is in sync with our global delivery strategy encompassing a three-tiered approach of on-site, off-shore and near-shore operatios, to enable us to offer the best services to our customers."

The FSS, formerly Hughes Software Systems, has two other near-shore software development facilities located in the US and Germany.
