Locations of new Geely-Volvo facilities
Zhejiang Geely Holding Group, the new owner of Volvo, will have three plants in China - in Shanghai's Jiading area, Daqing and Chengdu - to produce Volvo cars, according to Chinese media reports.
Local media quoted a manager at the Chengdu plant as saying that Volvo's SUV models will be made in Chengdu in a 870,000 square meter facility that can produce 300,000 vehicles annually.
Shanghai's Jiading industrial development area will be home to Geely-Volvo's headquarters and its sedan production facility.
The Volvo S60 may be made in Daqing, while the C30 and luxury model V70 will be built in Jiading, according to media reports.
