Hyundai' sales boom in China and US
Hyundai-Kia Automotive Group, the world's fifth-largest automaker, continued strong performance in China by selling 85,827 vehicles in August, up 20.5 percent year on year.
Its Chinese joint venture Beijing-Hyundai sold 60,824 vehicles in August, up 6 percent over the last month and 19.9 percent from a year ago.
It sold 438,854 vehicles globally, up 27.9 percent from August last year, mainly due to its booming sales in China and the United States.
August sales in the US increased more than 18 percent, with an unprecedented market share of 4.6 percent.
